General Information

for delegates & visitors

Language

The IRUG 12 Conference language will be English.

Online Registration

Attendees can pick up their personal congress material at the registration desk. All conference participants must register preliminarily online for the conference.

Visas

Delegates requiring visas should request a visa invitation letter from the organisers at the time of registering for the event, ensuring sufficient time is left for applications to be completed. Delegates are then responsible for contacting the relevant/appropriate embassy themselves. The organisers can do nothing further to assist this process.

More specific information about passports & visas can be found here.

General information about travelling to Greece can be found here.

Currency

The currency is EURO (€). The official exchange rate is published daily in the newspapers. Cash and travelers checks are easily exchanged in banks and hotels. Most hotels and restaurants accept international credit cards.

Important note:
Please note that capital controls imposed by the Greek government since last summer, do not affect our guests. Anyone visiting Greece is not affected by the measures, as the capital controls announced do not apply to those wishing to make transactions and withdrawals with a credit card issued in their home country. Travelers’ credit cards are normally accepted by stores and ATMs, while the acceptance of credit and debit cards is mandatory. The refusal of credit and debit cards is punishable by penalties according to an act of legislative content (ΦΕΚ 66 Α’/30.6.2015). No money restrictions apply on foreign citizens. As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you carry with you more than one means of payment (cash, debit cards, credit cards).
